Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before downloading, installing, or using the EnvX Desktop Application or Web Portal.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using EnvX ("the Software", "the Service"), provided by EnvX Inc. ("EnvX", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of an entity, company, or organization, you represent and warrant that you possess the full legal authority to bind such entity to these Terms.

2. Software License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and your active license subscription or purchase tier, EnvX grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and run the EnvX desktop binary on your computing devices:

  • Community Tier: Free personal or commercial use on up to three local encrypted workspaces per device.
  • Pro License (Annual or Lifetime): Grants an individual developer unlimited local workspaces, global hotkey OSD access, and encrypted cloud synchronization across your personal machines.
  • Team Plan: Grants an organization multi-seat usage with shared vaults, role-based access control, and centralized audit compliance.

3. Machine Fingerprinting & Activation

To prevent unauthorized redistribution and enforce seat restrictions, EnvX utilizes cryptographic machine fingerprinting (hashing hardware and motherboard identifiers) when activating Pro licenses. Machine identifiers are hashed irreversibly with SHA-256 and do not transmit personally identifiable data or hardware serials in cleartext.

4. Zero-Knowledge Local Architecture & Responsibility

Zero-Knowledge Guarantee: All secrets, API tokens, and environment variables managed by EnvX are encrypted on your local machine using AES-256 GCM. EnvX Inc. has zero access to your encryption keys, plain text values, or database credentials.

Because encryption is zero-knowledge and keys are machine-locked or derived from your master credentials, you are solely responsible for backing up your recovery keys. EnvX Inc. cannot recover or decrypt environment variables if you lose your master credentials.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to decompile, reverse-engineer, modify, or circumvent license verification checks of the Software, nor use the Software to orchestrate cyberattacks, distribute malware, or compromise third-party infrastructures.

6. Subscription Billing & Cancellation

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring monthly or annual basis via Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time via the web dashboard. For full details regarding refund eligibility, refer to our 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee policy.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. IN NO EVENT SHALL ENVX INC. BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR DIRECT/INDIRECT DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE OR ACCIDENTAL GIT COMMITS OCCURRING OUTSIDE ENVX MANAGED SAFEGUARDS.
